Job Description:
The Student Assistant for the SUNY SAIL (Strategic, Academic, Innovative Leadership) Institute is a part time position within the SUNY SAIL Institute, SUNY System Administration. The selected incumbent will play a critical role in supporting SUNY and the SUNY SAIL Institute's projects that focus on leadership and professional development programming. This work will require working with existing SUNY System Administration offices and SUNY campuses. The Student Assistant will build on existing program work, research best practices, and help plan events focused on leadership development.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support marketing and communication activities to raise awareness of the SAIL Institute and its offerings.
- Develop marketing materials including social media posts, emails and fliers
- Minor video editing of webinars, presentations, and other related video content
- Provide support for the development and maintenance of the SAIL Institute website
- Assist with development of SAIL's social media and web presence
- Create infographics for use in presentations, marketing materials, and reports
- Maintain email contact lists
- Assist with the coordination of the Student Leader Academy, Winter Leadership Academy, and other various leadership development programs that the SUNY SAIL Institute offers.
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of the programs
- Design, print and assemble program materials, as well as marketing materials
- Create and administer post-program evaluations and provide recommendations based on the findings
- Create and manage nomination forms in online tool
- Design and issue digital credentials
- Serve in production support role for virtual events facilitated in Zoom, including breakout room management, tracking attendance, monitoring questions, assisting participants with technical issues, managing program recordings, poll questions, etc.
- Maintain team events calendar
- Coordinate design team scheduling
- Share program materials and updates with participants in SUNY Workplace groups
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled as a SUNY undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be able to maintain complete confidentiality
- Must have 12-20 hours available per week Monday-Friday (a minimum of 15 hours a week is preferred)
- This position is based in Albany, NY
Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Editing and proofreading professional documents
- Video and audio editing capabilities are a plus, but not required
- Experience with Siteground software or related webpage development programs
- Event planning and logistical coordination experience
- Familiarity with leadership development programming

Additional Information:
