Our RWIC Supervisor will assist the RWIC managers in supervising the RWIC’s. Duties include scheduling, training, auditing, and recruiting RWIC’s as well as marketing and developing client relationships.
Primary Duties:
- Work directly with the RWIC Managers to provide day to day supervision of the Roadway Workers in Charge (RWICs)
- Market and promote RPFS to Railroad officials, potential clients, and existing clients
- Recruit and interview candidates; helping to make hiring decisions
- Provide training for new and existing RWIC team members both in a classroom setting and out. in the field and participate in revising and developing training programs
- Supervise and mentor RWICs to improve performance and job skills
- Keep track of the daily schedule and stay in communication with the RWIC managers for any changes to that schedule
- Audit and evaluate the RWIC team and provide regular feedback to the team and to management
- Maintain a supply of equipment for use by the flagmen in the field and work with Field Services team to ensure equipment is repaired or replaced as needed. Report equipment distribution to the Field Services team
- Assist managers with the review of Daily Work Reports (DWR), payroll, expenses, and invoicing; ensuring they are submitted on-time and error free
- Provide technical support and radio programming support to the RWIC team in the field
- Provide a written plan to the management team at the end of each week with your week’s activities in addition to your goals for the following week
- Promote a culture that achieves safe, on-time, error and incident free service to our clients and the company
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet business needs
- At least 5 years of direct railroad experience, preferably within the Maintenance of Way (MOW) department as a RWIC
- Knowledgeable in GCOR Operating Rules and experienced working under railroad rules
- Must have a valid driver license
- Must have and then maintain the necessary safety credentials
- Must reside in close proximity of the assigned headquarter for the business unit
- Must be proficient in the use of email, and computers and in Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Google Drive.
- Must be able to provide support in trouble shooting radio issues and provide programming support
- Must demonstrate strong interpersonal communications skills in working with office support staff, flagmen, railroad officials, potential clients, and existing clients
