Responsible for successfully sourcing parts, supplies, and services from qualified suppliers with guidance. This position benefits from a technical background to be able to evaluate, recognize, and develop potential supplier capabilities. These skills will be needed to source parts, supplies, and services that meet or exceed STOBER quality, delivery, and cost objectives as prescribed by leadership. Work closely with inside sales to evaluate lead times and expedite parts as needed to meet customer needs.

Job Duties:

  • Execute assigned tasks assuring timely completion
  • Provide reliable dates when parts will be available and/or containment actions to help SDI meet customer expectations when customer demand exceeds parts available. Suggest and implement corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
  • Identify and address opportunities in material flow to facilitate effective product availability so SDI can meet customer expectations
  • Source, develop, & maintain relationship with vendors both internal and external
  • Determine potential use of alternate components
  • Material replenishment planning and execution
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and elimination of waste.
  • Follow procurement policies/procedures and work instructions as directed by management and/or per ISO 9001
  • Work to correct and prevent receiving and invoice issues
  • Develop &/or improve current data analytics as part of a Team for making decisions for supply chain effectiveness. Make versus buy, supplier lead times, costing, etc
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills:

Understands fundamental concepts of sourcing, procurement & supply chain management.

Mechanical aptitude

1. Ability to work with technical specifications and standards

2. Ability to read mechanical drawings

Strong communication skills. Push information (data), not require others to pull information.

Aptitude & desire to analyze data collected by ERP system to spot trends & work to countermeasure issues.

Solid organizational skills

Ability to work well with others and lead in a team environment

Personal computer skills with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint.

Experience with SAP a plus

Ability to work in a self-directed manner with some guidance.

Personal & professional growth mindset

Ability to travel both domestic & international.

Education:

Degree in business, logistics, or mechanical engineering preferred, but not required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is minimally exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
