Support Services Technician Job Description


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Current state Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s Driving Policy.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.
  • Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence.
  • Other qualifications/certifications specific to the local operation and/or contract requirements.
  • Satisfactorily meet Company physical assessments/tests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate vehicles, including ambulances
  • Deliver supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds to deployment stations, hospitals, or field operations staff;
  • Maintain cleanliness of company vehicles, property, and equipment;
  • Complete inventory requests, stock/re-stock supplies, deliver and collect supplies and other documents from various locations;
  • Perform light maintenance duties and complete minor repairs to stations or equipment;
  • Assist with maintaining minimum readiness standards in vehicles and stations;
  • Inspect and promptly report damage, deficiencies, safety issues or other problems with ambulances, company vehicles, equipment and supplies, or any other matters relevant to the safe, efficient, and proper operation of the company.
  • Compliance with all provisions of the Employee Handbook, as well as all other company rules, regulations, directives, or instructions from supervisors.
  • Demonstrates the attitude of a Health Care Professional to include, but not limited to, maintaining a clean appearance, demonstrating courteous, professional and ethical behavior, and demonstrating the ability to work cooperatively with other members of the EMS Health Care System.
  • Other duties as requested or required by a supervisor or other members of the management team.

Physical Requirements

Physical ability to perform all tasks required in the performance of typical warehouse or support services duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to bend/stoop, push, pull, lift, climb.

Occasionally: Work at heights.

Frequently: Lifting and carrying up to 75lbs

Constantly: Hearing/listening, clear speech, legible handwriting.

Occasionally: Analyzing, judgment.

Frequently: Memorization, perception/computation, problem solving, simple and complex math skills, reasoning.

Constantly: Ability to follow simple and complex written and verbal instructions. Ability to read, speak, and understand English.

Occasionally: Fatigue, intense tasks

Frequently: Repetitive tasks, high pressure.

Occasionally: Computer

Constantly: Ambulance, company owned cell phone, company owned communication equipment.

Occasionally: Inside for special assignments, cleaning, or other details

Frequently: Works around others, works alone, face-to face and verbal contact with others, inside, noise, extended day.

Constantly: Works with others, face-to-face and verbal contact with others, withstand varied environmental conditions such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture. The Company is a 365, 24/hours per day, 7 days per week operation. Evenings, weekends, and holidays.
