SURVEYOR’S APPRENTICE

A position is available as a Surveyor’s Apprentice with 2+ years of relevant experience:

Overview:

The Surveyor’s Apprentice position reports to the Project Manager in the Surveying Department. Daily supervision and guidance will be provided, with a view to the incumbent working increasingly independently. Surveyor’s duties assist field crew in collecting data, operating data collector with total station and GNSS equipment. The scope of the job also includes:

· Prepare initial project write up from correspondence with client.

· Prepare new jobs for field work.

· Complete title research and abstracting.

· CAD drafting for map preparation.

· Field and office support for the preparation of boundary and topographic mapping.

· Working under the direct supervision and guidance of a Licensed Land Surveyor.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or at least 3 years in a related field is preferable but not required.
• Have ability to operate survey equipment such as total stations and GNSS devices to collect survey data.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word software.

Personal Qualities:

• Self-motivated and eager to learn new tasks and accept new responsibilities.
• Detail oriented - works with precision and accuracy.
• Has physical ability to work outdoors, often in rugged terrain.
• Solid communication skills with clients and coworkers.
