Project & Position Summary
ISC’s is undertaking a sustainable manufacturing program titled “Accelerating Clean, and Equitable (ACE) Manufacturing in India”. ACE Manufacturing will catalyze the emergence of a network of Indian institutions to drive significant, measurable, and lasting reductions in GHG emissions through clean technology deployment in manufacturing SME clusters across India. Simultaneously, the project aims to create a (gender) equitable green workforce to complement the activated clean technology ecosystems. The project focuses on the automotive, textile, and chemical sectors.
As an early professional, this position will support the execution of ACE Manufacturing’s objectives by acting as a focal point for the local stakeholders and maintaining active relationships with them while creating new strategic partnerships. The sustainable manufacturing early professional will also produce reports, conduct workshops, events, assessments, and surveys, and document the field scenario. This job position is located in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. The early professional will work closely with the Program Officer and the Program Assistant from the Energy and Environment Team, steering the ACE Manufacturing Program

Key Responsibilities*
1. Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building
- Support the team in identifying potential beneficiaries/partners like business units, industries, associations, individuals, local institutions, organizations, NGOs, colleges, training institutes, financial institutes, etc, suitable and willing to take part in ACE Manufacturing Program’s interventions
- Support in onboarding and building effective collaborations with relevant stakeholders, especially local colleges and training institutes for skilling programs.
- Work closely with the SME owners, industrial associations, and clean technology providers to facilitate linkage and communication for smooth deployment of clean technology pilots in the SMEs.
- Work closely with local authorities who are the members of the Clean Tech Steering Alliance (CTSA) for the ACE Manufacturing Program, and facilitate communication and synergy amongst them.
- Act as a focal point contact for local partners like clean technology innovators, energy auditors, trainers, etc
- Maintain communication with stakeholders. Check in regularly, to monitor and track the progress of the collaborative tasks with them.
2. Research work and Documentation
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative surveys from both supply and demand side stakeholders like the SMEs, Colleges, etc.
- Produce reports summarising surveys & field assessments on need on clean tech adoption, increasing equity in manufacturing sector, green skilling and financial assistance for clean tech adoption.
- Documents insights from the Tirupur textile cluster and prepare field notes
- Document the workshops conducted or the events organized under the ACE Manufacturing project.
3. Event Organisation
- Organise, conduct, and overlook ISC’s workshops, seminars, events, and demonstrations in the Tirupur textile cluster. Identify participants and coordinate with them.
- Organise and facilitate the regular roundtable meetings for partners and members of the CTSA to converse on building a net-zero textile manufacturing sector in Tirupur.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
1. Passion and interest in the field of sustainability, clean technology, and manufacturing.
2. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and good presentation skills
3. Previous experience of coordinating with large number of stakeholders, consultancy, relationship building is desirable.
4. Ability to provide leadership and initiate action
5. Experience in working semi-structured data collection and interpretation.
6. Proficiency in MS Office (PPT, Word, Excel) and Canva.
7. Proactive, strong attention to detail and precision to follow through, plan and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
8. Problem-solving approach and good analytical skills
9. Experienced in producing succinct and good reports
10. Experience of organizing events

Qualifications*
1. Master’s degree (preferably in engineering, business, environmental sciences, economics)
2. 0-2 years of experience in the field of climate change mitigation strategies, preferably supply chain sustainability or working with SMEs in the manufacturing sector.
3. Mandatory to know Tamil and English.
4. Working knowledge of textile manufacturing processes would be preferred.
5. Understanding of clean-tech and sustainable manufacturing is desirable.
