Role Description

Thinx is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead our Global Retail Sales organization as part of our Thinx Executive Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to take a winning brand from a successful D2C-first company to a fully omni-channel powerhouse, continuing our growth and disruption in the Retail Feminine Care category.

In this role, you will be accountable to develop the long-term as well as in-year strategy to win in our Premium, E-Commerce and Mass Retail channels, in the USA and globally. In the short term, you will drive scale and efficiency with existing accounts managing the P+L for the retail wholesale business and develop strong relationships with buyers, agencies, and internal teams including managing our Thinx Retail Team.

This role works cross-functionally with the Planning, Supply Chain/Operations, Finance, Brand Marketing, PR and Product Creation to execute on our goals and establish the brand with key global retail partners and consumers at point of sale. Our Thinx SVP, Global Retail will partner closely with and execute commercial sales strategy through the sales organization of our Kimberly-Clark majority owner to further accelerate impact in the market.

Our SVP, Global Retail is a key member of Thinx's Executive Leadership Team that develops the long-term strategy for the Company and manages the day-to-day business as a high performing team. As a collaborative member of the executive team at Thinx you will be looked at to uphold Thinx's company culture, mission and vision.


The Work You'll do:

  • Accountable for Global Thinx Retail sales performance and full P+L delivery, driving revenue and margin goals.
  • Develop long range strategic growth plans for our global Retail business in collaboration with Kimberly-Clark Sales organization spanning premium/specialty outlets, Amazon/ e-commerce, mass/grocery, pharmacy/ drug, and club. as we drive further scale in the United States and plan expansions into strategic Global markets
  • Develop integrated annual channel and account plans to optimize strategic, revenue and profitability goals; track & deliver on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis for owned channels (Amazon, Mass Retail Apparel, Speciality, etc) and channels accessed via Kimberly-Clark sales team (Personal Care Aisle, Drug, Club, etc).
  • Develop and deepen relationships with current accounts, external agencies and marketing teams.
  • Forecast revenue and units sold in and sell out at the account and product level working collaboratively with merchandise/demand planning and supply chain partners at both Thinx and Kimberly-Clark across key markets.
  • Manage trade investment and resources for the best return on investment; analyze data and implement high quality solutions to issues and actions to drive business proactively
  • Partner with cross functional teams to assess risks and opportunities; communicate and implement best profit and high customer satisfaction solutions.
  • Build a winning category management, shopper marketing, revenue growth management capability; execute plans regarding distribution, merchandising, pricing, and product placement, including negotiating contracts and various merchandising programs with customers.
  • Lead and develop a direct team currently composed of a Senior Director, and two Account Executives; build out team to serve future growth needs.
  • As a member of the Executive Team contribute to 3 year Strategy & execution within each year; develop and foster close and trusting working relationships with each of the Executive Team members.
  • Regularly interact with the Thinx Board of Directors and Kimberly Clark Executive Management team to share our progress to goals and as well as our progress to goal(s) and other topics related to current and future retail business.

  • You're a strong collaborator and communicator. You proactively build cross-functional partnerships within Thinx, with Kimberly Clark, and outside of the company. You are effective at driving outcomes and change even without direct authority. You understand how to manage external client relationships and internal teams' expectations. You are empathetic to stakeholders objectives and also an expert negotiator.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15 years of work experience in mass retail account management within established Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company. Start up experience is a plus.
  • Must have strong proven experience in account management/ customer development and commercial sales strategy.
  • Prior experience managing key strategic mass retail accounts such as Target, Walmart, Walgreens/Boots, grocery, drug in addition to experience growing market share in E-Commerce retailers such as Amazon.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop long-term plans for partners, which maximize brand awareness and profit, while minimizing channel conflict and cannibalization.
  • Ability to accurately forecast demand for sales and profit growth on a micro and macro level.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively within a large, matrixed company/corporate structure with the ability to influence while building strong internal relationships.
  • Diverse experience working with cross functional departments, including operations, marketing, channel management, category management and finance.
  • Excellent communication skills with executive ability to influence; excellent customer and cross functional interface capabilities, strong presentation skills.
  • Exceptional track record of successfully coaching and developing a team.
  • Personally compelled and inspired by Thinx mission; individuals specifically interested in health and wellness, sustainability and other social issues thrive.
  • Willingness to travel 20-25%.

Our Compensation Philosophy

At Thinx, our compensation philosophy is driven by the goal of attracting, developing, and retaining the best people to further our mission, vision, and business goals. Compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including and not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. For New York City the range of base annual salary for this position is USD $197,800 - $250,000. Candidates being considered for work in other locations will be subject to the base salary range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. Base annual salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits that may be available.
