SVP, Head of Technology Job at April Housing

Responsibilities:
April Housing is seeking an experienced Head of Technology to play a pivotal role in advancing the transformation, effectiveness, and scale of the company’s technology function to support the organization’s evolving business model. Importantly, the Head of Technology will play a key role in working with April Housing’s leadership team, Blackstone and Revantage to define April’s IT roadmap. Acting as an effective thought partner to the business, the Head of Technology will work closely with executive management team to drive and execute on April Housing’s mission.
What you will do:
- Lead further development and optimization of April Housing’s Information Technology platform including infrastructure, software, cybersecurity, etc.
- Partner with the management team to build the technology presence in the firm along with developing technological solutions that enhance and streamline business operations and resident experience.
- Improve, consolidate, and automate the current ecosystem
- Currently, key systems include – Yardi, Avid, GTreasury, Oracle, Sage, and other third party and proprietary technology and data systems
- Partner with functional teams to optimize technology processes related to accounts payable, cash management, asset management, corporate accounting, investment management, loan management, partnership accounting and compliance, and valuations.
- Lead and champion the deployment of a data and analytics platform that integrates varied sources of data into a centralized reporting repository that can be used across April Housing, Blackstone, and Revantage
- Establish strong relationships across the April, Blackstone, and Revantage leadership teams to ensure the overall strategic direction of the Information Technology team is consistent with, and supported by business functions
- Increase strategic alignment, technology adoption and collaboration among April Housing by creating and executing on strategic plans, policies, and technologies throughout the business
- Build the framework and governance to build, scale, and grow the tech platform as well as develop the accounting system strategy and application implementation
- Provide leadership and develop enterprise standard over enterprise-wide IT infrastructure including architecture, networking, compute, storage, cloud platforms, and governance processes.
- Deliver cyber security policy, procedures and frameworks including regular independent assessments to ensure the protection of the integrity, security and privacy of all sensitive data and systems
- Define the technology budget, and ensure ROI on invested capital and time resources
- Develop a strong working knowledge of the company's business and related technology architecture
- Contribute to, as needed, technology updates to quarterly April Housing board materials
What you should have:
- Bachelors in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of technology experience, preferably reaching CTO/CIO level, including 5 years of people management
- A Player/coach mentality
- Prior Software Development/Coding experience a plus
- Project management skills, particularly in rolling out new products within organizations
- A proven track record of using data and technology to capitalize on business opportunities
- Strategic acumen, with sound judgment, vision, and a proven ability to get the job done
- Ability to influence others without direct authority is critical
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies
- The passion to learn, grow, and help us to improve our business and that of our clients
- Real Estate industry expertise a plus
