The senior vice president will lead multi-disciplinary teams versed in media relations, corporate communications, patient advocacy, investor relations, content development, and digital and visual communications. This position requires a passion and deep experience working in an innovative industry that is committed to developing new medicines or solutions that can help or perhaps cure people battling health conditions and devastating diseases.
On a day to day basis, the senior vice president will:

Provide strategic leadership to CanaleComm efforts across multiple client accounts, working with account teams to create plans and oversee implementation of the full range of client responsibilities

Serve as strategic contact for clients with consideration for navigating complex scenarios, including crisis communications

Identify new avenues to advance awareness of client positioning in life science industry across media relations, investor relations, social media, content and thought leadership

Utilize established connections in relevant communities of media and/or investor relations to advance specific activities on client programs

Supervise and mentor direct reports to provide opportunities for continued professional development
-
Oversee ongoing client activity to track for budget, with support for contracting and invoicing
-
Maintain position as thought leader in life science communications to expand professional network and lead educational sessions for internal teams

Identify and pursue opportunities for organic and new business growth around agency offerings
-
Participate as a member of agency leadership team to guide ongoing operations, team development and broader initiatives
The ideal applicant will:

Have 15+ years communication experience including on the agency side, with significant experience working with the biotechnology industry

Revel in anticipating clients’ needs and creatively solve problems

Be a self-starter, with initiative and an eagerness to learn, think critically and creatively, and stretch their skills.

Be a voracious consumer of news in order to track industry trends relevant to clients and life sciences industry.

Be comfortable communicating with diverse groups of people, including executives, entrepreneurs, investors and journalists.
