Job Summary
Langan is seeking a Systems Administrator to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in maintaining and supporting the Firm’s server environments, telephony, video and LAN/WAN infrastructure throughout the firm. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic technology team to proactively monitor the reliability and performance of network infrastructure as well as diagnose and repair problems.
Job Responsibilities
- Installs, diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs Cisco/Meraki LAN/WAN hardware as well as Microsoft Windows Server operating systems;
- Proactively monitors the reliability, usage and performance of network and server infrastructure to ensure security and availability to users; analyzes and isolates issues;
- Creates and maintains documentation of physical and logical networks as well as SOPs and design documents;
- Assists with hardware and software upgrades of network, server and storage devices;
- Ensures reliability and performance of network infrastructure by providing administration of Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, IPT, multi-segment networks and MPLS WANs;
- Administers virtual environments including, but not limited to: deploying virtual servers, monitoring server performance, Horizon View and Citrix XenDesktop;
- Administers NetApp environment by creating, modifying, or deleting volumes, LUNs, Snapshots and replication; and
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a similar discipline;
- 2+ years of related work experience in both Cisco and Microsoft infrastructures;
- Hands-on experience in the administration of Cisco routers and switches, firewalls, IPT, multi-segment networks and MPLS WANs;
- Technical knowledge of telecommunications, network and PC operating systems;
- Experience with VMWare and Storage platforms, Microsoft Unified Messaging and Polycom audio and video conferencing a plus;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
- Possession of a driver’s license in good standing and reliable access to transportation for travel to branch office locations.
