Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the performance and reliability of systems and infrastructure. Participates in projects to implement or enhance enterprise applications and infrastructure components. Performs troubleshooting for hardware, software, and system problems. Consults business users on technology changes that will impact work processes. Provides recommendations for enhancements and changes that may involve custom design, optional and third-party products to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of applications and infrastructure. Maintains overall system security, creates and updates access permissions and maintains user accounts. Monitors and maintains performance metrics for system features, recommends, and takes corrective/preventive actions. Performs configuration, change management and testing activities as required. Has knowledge of audio/visual conference room components, especially with Microsoft Teams Room setups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day administration for infrastructure components (firewalls, routers, switches, servers, storage, etc.) including troubleshooting problems and issues
- Provide Tier 2 end-user support for infrastructure, applications, and solutions within a structured ticket-based tracking system; Diagnose, analyze, and solve complex user issues; Provide ad hoc end user training as needed
- Investigate, evaluate, and recommend new systems, services, applications, tools, and solutions to improve customer service and align with business needs
- Plan, manage, and execute major and minor upgrades and patching for infrastructure, applications, and solutions using structured change controls principles; Communicate with users about downtime and new features
- Plan, manage, and execute new infrastructure, application, and solution implementations; Collect and document business requirements and manage change management activities
- Ensure the ability to recover data through the effective deployment and management of recover strategies, backup systems, software, and architecture
- Document infrastructure configurations and standard operating procedures
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and support to less experienced team members
- Document, follow, and enforce policies, procedures, and guidelines to support consistent and repeatable operations
- Participate in educational opportunities such as formal training, reading, etc. to stay current with existing, new, and emerging technology trends
- Manage backup systems, software, and architecture
- Managing Microsoft365 technologies including: Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams
- Document infrastructure configurations and standard operating procedures
- Manage and troubleshoot all in house audio/visual conference room setups

- Deep understanding of best practices for both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure and application management
- Strong understanding of common business processes
- Strong understanding of audio/visual MS Teams conference room setups
- Ability to translate high level business needs to comprehensive solutions that include: IT architecture, applications, cloud services, and security best practices
- 5+ years of systems administration, identity management and end user management software
- 5+ years of experience supporting and managing Microsoft infrastructure including Active Directory
- Understanding of IT Security concepts and practices, especially related to cloud services such as Microsoft365
- Ability to train others and to coach staff from a technical perspective
- Experience with change control processes and procedures
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and TCP/IP
- Experience with monitoring applications and infrastructure
- Experience with both hardware and virtual server implementation and management
- Experience with Microsoft365 technologies including: Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
