In this role, you have the opportunity to work as part of an interdisciplinary design team, carrying out the systems engineering activities associated with the design of custom LCD display modules for aircraft cockpits. These modules can consist of LCD’s, backlights, touch panels, bezels, and computers for commercial and rugged military environments per DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461. Certification is typically per DO-254 and DO-178.

You are responsible for

  • Management of requirements traces during product development
  • Ensuring that all development activity gates are properly transitioned and closed
  • Working with business development on generation of new proposal Compliance Matrices and Technical Volumes
  • Working with Engineering QA auditors
  • Creation of product specifications and ICDs
You are a part of an interdisciplinary engineering team based on the engineering disciplines comprised of mechanical, electrical, VHDL, systems, optical, software, PCB layout, production, and test. System Engineering activities include requirements management, business development, interfacing with other engineering disciplines (firmware/software/mechanical/electrical/production test engineering), and possibly MBSE, development stage gate management, and development certification support. Partial work from home is allowed and supported.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Minimum BS in Engineering Field. Systems Engineering degree preferred.
  • 0-5 yrs experience in Systems Engineering
  • Candidate must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident.
Additionally, the following skills and experience are desirable:

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Design certification experience: DO-254 and/or DO-178c from DAL A to DAL D.
  • Jama - requirements management SW tool
  • Jira - task management SW tool
  • Cameo - Model Based Systems Engineering SW tool
Purpose: This position is for an established and productive professional individual contributor in the Systems Engineering sub-family, who works independently with general supervision.

Responsibility Statement: Under limited supervision, this position requires knowledge of requirements management, design engineering processes, stage gates, and engineering quality assurance processes. Systems Engineering activities involve requirements management including internal reviews and audits. Significant interaction is required with business development, engineers and engineering management, program management, customer system engineers and certification managers, and possibly DO-254/DO-178 auditors.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Education: Minimum BS in Engineering Field. Systems Engineering degree preferred.
