The Associated Students of CSU, Chico is recruiting for Take-Out Station Supervisor, Part-time . This is a part-time, non-benefited position that will work no more than 29 hours per week, 960 hours per fiscal year. The pay rate is $18.00/hr . There are four vacancies with the following anticipated schedules:

Sunday through Thursday, 10:30am to 4:00pm

Sunday through Thursday, 4:00pm to 9:30pm

Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30am to 4:00pm

Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00pm to 9:30pm

Schedules are subject to change based on departmental needs.

The Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU,Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises. With an annual budget of more than $21M, the AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union, the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC), and administers the contract for the Wildcat Store (bookstore). Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Recycling, Sustainability and student government. Typically, the AS employs more than 100 full and part-time employees and more than 750 students.

TAKE-OUT STATION SUPERVISOR, Part-time


SUMMARY

This is a supervisory position with general responsibility for food service set up and production at a Dining Service facility. Under general direction will train student employees, supervise food service production, quality control, and sanitation. There will be some delivery elements to this position. Responsible for ensuring meals are delivered on schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Adhere to all food-handling, sanitation, safety and dress code policies at all times.
  • Enforces all organization policies and procedures.
  • Represents department with the campus community, other organizations, and the public, establishing and maintaining good customer relations.
  • Communicates shortages of food products to production staff as needed.
  • Ensures meals are properly packaged and delivered to guests within a timely manner.
  • Works with the other supervisors and managers regarding operations, personnel and administrative problems.
  • Monitors and Supervises service areas to ensure they are clean, stocked and organized.
  • Drive a motorized vehicle
  • Go up and down stairs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Other tasks may be assigned as necessary.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed throughout Campus, as well as in Sutter Hall. This includes being outdoors in different weather elements, day and night. Includes contact with student groups, the campus and Associated Student community, and the general public. Work is performed in a food service kitchen environment; some exposure to heat, cold, and moisture.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Stand and walk for extended periods; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.; verbal communication; use of food service and register equipment. Climb up and down stairs. Ability to drive. Incumbent/applicant will need to be able to perform the essential job functions (duties) of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Will travel approximately 6 miles, up to three times per day for meal deliveries. Will be exposed to weather elements. Must have Valid Driver’s License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • No special requirements.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Six (6) months full-time or part-time equivalent experience in food and beverage or retail industries.

Special Requirements:

  • Possession of or ability to obtain a current and valid California Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Post-offer, pre-employment physical required.
