TANF High School Equivalency teachers will assist adults to acquire and develop literacy and numeracy skills; to acquire the necessary academic prerequisites to access further post-secondary education and skill training opportunities, or employment and workplace training opportunities; to increase educational levels for purposes of self-improvement; to learn and develop living and social skills; and/or to acquire and develop English language skills.
This appointment is contingent upon availability of grant or contract funds. If the funds from the grant or contract that provide funding for this appointment are no longer available, this appointment may be terminated without cause upon written notice to the employee.

Minimum Education/Experience
Valid Oklahoma Teacher’s Certificate
OR
Master’s Degree.

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with colleagues and students to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently move about the classroom to assist students and perform the essential functions of the position.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, classroom or office setting.

Teaching experience in Multi-level classes.

Needy Families) programs and DHS (Department of Human
Services).

15 Hours of Annual Professional Development
Work Hours
TANF Class: Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. These days/hours will be shared based on teacher availability.
