Position Summary
This paid position is intended for professional development and is focused on furthering knowledge, practical experience and skills in team operations. The individual will primarily take an active role assisting with all teams under the Sporting KC umbrella including the First Team, Sporting KC II & SKC Academy teams.

The Team Administration Fellowship individual will gain hands-on experience performing a variety of roles within a fast-paced, behind-the-scenes environment, with the chance to have a direct impact on professional soccer in Kansas City. This entry level position is available on or after January 1 through December 31.

Essential Functions

  • Learn how professional sports teams operate by collaborating with the Sporting Kansas City Team Administration Department with all team events, experiencing as many aspects of operations as possible.
  • Understand the logistics and execution of team operations events including team trainings, matches, and travel planning.
  • Learn and participate in the organizational culture and within the Team Core Values.
  • Assist with special projects including communications to team members & related parties, travel planning, player registration, player relocation, gameday preparation, open tryout planning, coordination of front office requests for team, and more.
  • Attend department meetings to learn about the processes used to organize a team event or operation.
  • Lead special projects designated by the Team Administrators.
  • Assist with a variety of office tasks.
  • Support Sporting Kansas City’s mission, vision and purpose.
  • Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform other related task or projects as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Interest and experience in competitive sports preferred.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write in the English language.
  • Spanish language fluency preferred.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Calendar.
