Coordinator of Team & Gameday Operations
The Coordinator of Team & Gameday Operations is a member of the Operations team and plays a vital role in ensuring our team is fully prepared to maximize training sessions, game day competitions and other events. The Coordinator serves as the primary steward of team training sessions, team care, pre-game preparation and equipment management.

Role Responsibilities
Administrative
- Ensure strong knowledge of USL Operations Manual and minimize fines for the team. Advise other departments of issues that are observed.
- Submitting necessary and required USL forms and “teamwork” mobile apps sheets pre-game and post-game forms and others as instructed.
Team, Competition, & Referee Meals
- Procure team food for training sessions
- Procure team food for post-game meals
- Set-up and tear down team breakfasts prior to training
- During away trips, uber or walk to nearest grocery store to pick up snacks for team while traveling
- Fulfill all groceries needed for referees, visiting team, and our team on home game days.
Facility & Equipment Management
- Secure and bring team golf cart to facility as needed for equipment and personnel transport
- Procure all team toiletry needs for locker room
- Inventory all equipment and apparel after training sessions and games to ensure all is returned
- Keep a highly organized inventory of all equipment and apparel throughout entire season
- Ensure all jerseys and shorts are embellished appropriately and within league compliance for game days
- Ensure all team apparel and towels are laundered on a daily basis
- Ensure all uniforms are league compliant, laundered, hung neatly and stored securely
- Check out practice gear and retrieve from trialists
- Assign lockers and place nametags on them for incoming players
- Assist with set-up locker rooms for teams and referees for each event.
- Assist with set-up stadium with all equipment, materials, food & beverage etc. for all games and events.
- Assist with tear down and clean up the facility after games.
Game Day, Competition, & Training
- Ensure water is filled and distributed during training sessions.
- Assist with proper equipment placement, movement and put-away for training sessions as instructed from coaches.
- Distributing game day gear (compressions and socks)
- Ensure teams and referees are on field for proper start of beginning and 2nd half of each game.
- Ensure advertising field boards are installed as instructed for home games
- Attend Meeting with teams and referees for lineup exchange, kit compliance, and coin toss
- Count down time for both teams to leave locker room (game start and halftime)
- Assist with gathering and storing balls after warmups
- Distribute special event items within the team (wristbands, jerseys, etc.)
- Cleaning out referee and away team locker rooms once leaving the Stadium
- Launder towels used by everyone and bring them back to Memorial Stadium
Travel
- Pack all team bags with appropriate equipment and apparel for team away-events.
- Taking all bags (cones, kits, loops, toiletries, medical, cleats) to the airport for games, and bringing back as well
Personnel
- Assist with transportation of new player arrivals and helping them from airport and to their living quarters
- Assist with the supervision and direction of interns
Additional
- Make sure required drinks are provided to the visiting team’s hotel.
- Video of training or games
- Learning and helping with SportsCode, Spiideo, or other tagging software .
These are the primary functions of the role, however there may be additional events or tasks assigned to the Coordinator of Team & Gameday Operations by your Supervisor or Head Coach.
Education Requirements
- A bachelors degree in Sports Management or Sports Facility Management is preferred. Real-world experience in this area may be acceptable if candidate can demonstrate mastery of the other skills and experience required.
Experience Preferred
- A general knowledge of soccer and sports events operations is required. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in event operations and preferably in collegiate or professional sports.
- Knowledge of USL League operations is a “plus” for the ideal candidate
Physical Requirements
- Qualified candidates will be able to lift and or move 100 pounds of equipment at a single time, repeatedly.
- Qualified candidate will be able to legally drive a motor vehicle on public streets and sporting facilities.
- Qualified candidates will be able to walk substantial distances throughout the day and be able to run short distances periodically.
- Candidate will need to have a flexible schedule as this role requires early morning, late evening and travel hours and is not consistent day to day.
