Led by the United Way of SWCO (UWSWC), Team UP AmeriCorps places members at orgs throughout southwest CO to focus on improving the lives of community members from cradle to career. Team UP has been utilizing collective impact initiatives since 2015 to collaborate across sectors & promote communication towards common goals w/in rural communities. Team UP AmeriCorps members provide direct service to improve outcomes in Education, Economic Opportunity & Healthy Futures. Team UP AmeriCorps members serve directly at a non-profit, school or gov’t agency called their Host Site. Members are placed at Host Sites based on their specific skills & interests, as well as their desired location of service. Team UP is recruiting for a LENA Provider to serve w/ the San Juan Board of Cooperative Educational Service (SJ BOCES). SJBOCES provides shared educational programs & services to 8 school districts in SW CO. SJBOCES builds capacity to ensure the personal success of all students. The mission is to build collaborative & cooperative regional education reform initiatives, by maximizing & leveraging regional resources to provide a continuum of quality services for all students & families. The LENA Provider will deliver LENA Home & LENA Start programs to empower families w/ evidence-based practices that support the growth of children, 0-3 years old. The LENA Provider will serve directly w/ families to support their child’s language & brain development through increasing adult interactive talk in the child’s family environment. They will serve Montezuma & Dolores counties & collaborate w/ other LENA providers to provide & support programming to families in Archuleta, La Plata, & San Juan Counties. Member Duties : The LENA Provider will provide information and coaching to families to promote interactive talk and learning in the child’s environment. Duty include: Schedule and provide home visits, in person or online, with interested and participating families - Facilitate and support LENA HOME and LENA START programs to multiple families in a home, family group, in-person or online setting - Actively recruit LENA participants for continuous LENA programming - Collaborate with partner agencies to organize and facilitate LENA programming in the region - Outreach and Communication to the community via stakeholder meetings, communications, and presentations - Track progress and collect data for Performance Measures and other evaluation tools - Attend Team UP AmeriCorps regional trainings, cohort connection days, and Days of Service To view the full position description, visit www.teamup-swco.org/open-positions.
