Technical Lab Analyst Job at CWM Environmental
Our company is currently seeking resumes for a full-time Technical Lab Analyst at our Kittanning, PA location. We originally formed in 1985 as CWM Laboratories to handle water analysis requirements of the mining industry, CWM Environmental, Inc. has evolved into a diversified full service environmental firm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Duties may include the following (depending on laboratory needs and applicant’s training/skills): microbiological analyses of drinking and waste water; wet chemistry (pH, Alkalinity, Acidity, Specific Conductance, TSS, TDS, Turbidity, etc); and/or instrumental analyses for TOC, Ion Chromatography, ICP, BOD, Spectrophotometry. Organics Analyst is a plus.
- Demonstrate a general knowledge of and compliance with approved test procedures, NELAP quality-control policies, safety procedures, records management, and ethical and legal responsibilities.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of drinking water and wastewater analytical requirements, sample handling, and sample storage and hold times.
- Perform initial review of all the test data that is generated and promptly inform the supervisor of any unusual trend in the analytical results.
- Maintain accountability and personal responsibility for the data generated.
- Perform sample collection and other fieldwork as required.
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Skills Required:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or related field preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Excel: skills such as creating spreadsheets and using functions, filters and graphs to analyze data.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word: skills such as creating, editing and formatting documents and preparing reports and tables.
- Experience with LIMS (data entry and managing data); a custom LIMS system is used at CWM Environmental, so training will be provided.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Required to work overtime/weekends as required by the business.
- Exposure to lab odors
- Moderate noise level
