Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience as a technical project manager, IT project manager or relevant role
  • Proficient in understanding both business and technical requirements
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization, including executive leadership
  • Experience with Jira and other project tracking tools
  • Proficiency in Program management methodologies, including the Project Management Institute (PMI) PMBOK and Agile.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile Scrum certification (CSM, ACP)
  • Experience in managing medium to large-scale projects for websites and/or mobile app systems
  • Excellent communicator and partnership skills with the ability to interface and influence across the organization, including executives
  • Experience in synthesizing complex or diverse project data and information.
  • Proficiency in establishing project management processes.
  • Strong decision-making with critical and strategic thinking skills
  • Highly adaptable; able to change direction frequently without losing effectiveness or demonstrating distress
  • Demonstrate good situational awareness and use basic emotional intelligence to positively influence outcomes

Job Summary

As Senior Technical Project Manager you'll be responsible for managing the execution of complex technical projects to drive objectives. You will manage scope, schedule, communication and delivery by coordinating with teams across the organization. You will serve as a mentor to peers, be an advocate for processes established by the PMO, and champion Agile best practices in software development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage scope of complex initiatives by guiding the project creation and management of the vision, objectives, and outcomes
  • Coordinate, prioritize/sequence, and communicate portfolio activities across the teams while anticipating and mitigating risks or challenges.
  • Ensure preparation, agendas, and pre-work for Engineering & Product Management leadership meetings are understood and happening in a coordinated way so that meetings are highly productive and follow-up/accountability measures are in place.
  • Manage quality of multiple projects by ensuring plans are up to date in a rapidly changing work environment
  • Bridge the “language gap” between engineering and business teams by translating technical information across business and technology audiences
  • Acts as a liaison between business users and the implementation team, communicating appropriately and effectively with co-workers, customers, and supervisors, maintaining awareness of project status and any potential delay, situation, or concern that may affect the outcome of the projects.
  • Works collaboratively with Engineering lead to maintain thorough knowledge of product capabilities, and to ensure that all communications between project teams and its stakeholders are precise.
  • Provide analysis, recommendations, and options for high-impact decisions required; assist in negotiating conflicts, and escalating items to senior leadership as needed
  • Supporting the PMO office by running effective, efficient, and repeatable business processes with a desire to constantly improve and evolve systems through data, feedback, and iteration.
  • Supporting the team by establishing clear ownership of roles/responsibilities, ensuring team members have the tools needed, and keeping them accountable for their commitments and tasks.
  • Ensure that the product backlog, releases, and documentation are updated and reviewed early and often
  • Promote frequent collaboration within the team to ensure that each member from Engineering / Design / Product / QA are on the same page about requirements and scope

Colorado, New York City, California, and Washington Candidates Only. The salary range for this position is eighty-four thousand dollars to one hundred seventy-seven thousand dollars. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus and other employment-related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401K retirement plan, and paid-time off.
