Job Purpose: To set-up and Maintain equipment in designated production cells to specifications and ensure equipment is operating in accordance with established guidelines and customer requirements. Responsibilities include: monitoring part quality, optimization of production equipment and utilization, operator training as needed, reprocessing product to minimize scrap, TPM maintenance, equipment programming, and continuous improvement projects. Knowledge of Welding, CNC machining, Saws, Presses, Robotics, Lasers, and Bending.

Qualifications:

• Education and Experience: High school diploma, and 3-5 years of related experience in one or more of the following skills Welding, CNC machining, Saws, Presses, Robotics, Lasers, and Bending and fabricating metal.
• Skills & Abilities: Ability to diagnose problems with equipment, Strong math skills, ability to read and interpret blueprints, ability of operate inspection equipment, good mechanical ability, problem solving skills, and good communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

• Set-up production jobs, ensure all equipment is available, run initial parts.
• Following setup standards and checks to obtain buyout.
• Preform adjustments based on quality standards and customer requirements.
• Analyze available data and make corrections as needed/ look for trends to improve process.
• Monitors production processes within the cell and improve equipment efficiency.
• May be required to work overtime in support of production operations.
• Complete all checks as required.
• Ability to operate medium duty mechanical equipment, saws, grinders, sanders, hand tools, etc.
• Ability to use measurement equipment such as micrometers, height gage, calipers, hardness checks, LMIs, Instron, Hexagon, etc.
• Engineering tasks as assigned.
• Communication with other techs, operators, supervision and management is required for all safety, quality, and efficiency issues encountered daily by tech.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Training Requirements: Mandatory Training: New Hire Orientation, Hi-Lo operator licensing, Safety & PPE, Operator Instructions, Inspection Instructions. Additional Training: Weld, CNC, Robotics, Laser, Lathes, Presses, Benders, and/or Saws.

Level of Authority: No supervisory authority

Physical Demands:

• Requires standing for long periods of time and walking (up to 7 hours).
• Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls,
• Requires lifting 10 lbs. frequently, and occasionally up to 50 lbs,
• Requires exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable,
• Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.
