Technology Infrastructure Engineer
STATUS: Full-Time

REPORTS TO: Assistant Director and Project Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Technology Infrastructure Engineer works with the Assistant Director and Project Manager in implementing, enhancing, maintaining and troubleshooting the College’s technology infrastructure.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Install and help administer the campus safety video systems;
- Assist with building access control system installation, support and administration;
- Maintain campus safety’s radio network operation;
- Network cabling, installation, termination, and testing;
- Support onsite vendor technology requirements;
- Assist with network routing, design, support, and monitoring;
- Assist with Cisco phone system troubleshooting and administration;
- Assist with server administration;
- Maintain network documentation;
- Assist in design and configuration of other network related projects;
- Work closely with security guards and other contract personnel;
- Provide training and technical support for users with varying levels of computer knowledge and proficiency;
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience;
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills;
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects (strong multi-tasking ability);
- Effective interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work effectively at multiple CCS locations (high degree of mobility);
- Previous experience with Cisco networks and Palo Alto firewalls a plus;
- Ability to occasionally work nights/weekends as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office environment with some physical work throughout campus, including in tight spaces and on rooftops. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. Must be able to climb ladders. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Physical mobility, including lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds from a variety of positions is required. Ability to work a variety of hours as needed.
