Job Description for Telecom Construction Supervisor

Apex Group is a leading Engineering and construction services company providing turnkey engineering construction solutions to Telecom, Cable, and Electric Utilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise field crews and sub-contractors (including municipality personnel, drop vendors, vac truck and horizontal directional drilling operations)
• Ensure projects are following budget
• Plan and distribute work to field crews
• Ensure accurate and detailed billing is completed in a timely manner
• Travel between job sites to follow-up and ensure that project timelines are maintained according to client expectations.
• Develop your team’s skill set and knowledge of telecom construction (Aerial and underground)
• Lead by example and support the company-wide safety culture
• Drive your team to meet deadlines and produce quality projects
• Provide a high level of customer service when interfacing with customers
• Ensure that health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to
• Provide ongoing coaching and training to team members on various aspects in the field.
• Communicate and work with clients (internal and external), Managers, Municipalities to ensure that any obstacles are removed, and projects are completed to client specifications and within timeline(s)
• Coordinate all fiber to the home (FTTH) outside plant construction project deliverables managing vendors, subcontractors, project superintendent, project coordinator/project engineer tasks and liaise with the design team
• Expertise in Managing OSP Aerial crews, Underground Crews, or a combination of both
• Other duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 5 years of Telecommunications/Utilities construction experience
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role
• Experience working on or around vac trucks and horizontal directional drills
• Outstanding interpersonal, influencing skills to build strong relationships, and network effectively with all levels of the organization and with external clients and partners.
• Ability to read and interpret utility plans and general contracts
• Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Caldwell, ID: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Telecom Constuction: 3 years (Preferred)
• Underground Utilities: 3 years (Preferred)
• Supervising: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
