Aleut Federal's Technology Services Group is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to join our team in Washington, DC.

Telecommunications Specialist

Duties:

• Ensure the EOC and all associated communications systems and equipment are maintained in a constant state of operational readiness;
• Conduct operational testing and coordinate the maintenance of the EPA secure telecommunications system, secure computers, faxes, etc., and if repair or service needed, notify EOC Team Leader and PO.;
• Meet D-16-1 monthly and quarterly testing requirements; ensure the facility is capable of attaining full operational capability and
• Support of a full headquarters Emergency Operations Team for extended operational periods under all hazards emergency conditions; including adherence to all National Security Information protocols for secure areas;
• During steady-state and emergency/extended operations, work closely with the on-duty Watch Officers (Senior Watch Officer/Watch Officer) in the preparation, development and transmission of EOC products (e.g., Daily Emergency Management Report, Spot Reports, and other EOC products).
• Support, as needed, interagency liaison activities, including monitoring HSIN and contacting interagency ops centers (e.g., DHS NOC and NICC) for information when the on-duty SWO/WO are engaged in other duties.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in National Security Strategy, Management, Public Administration, Political Science, or other related scientific, technical, or liberal arts discipline;
• Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience, of which at least four years must be specialized; and
• American citizenship with a Top Secret national security clearance (current at time of contract award). Experience in secure communications equipment operation and maintenance.

(1) General experience includes field or office work in Federal emergency response activities, familiarity with environmental response activities; ability to multi-task under possibly stressful conditions.

(2) Specialized experience includes work with national security emergency program management and/or operations; catastrophic disaster and/or environmental emergency program management or operations; emergency operations center (EOC) activities; demonstrated ability to provide guidance and direction in the tasks similar to the tasks described in the statement of work.
