Temporary Accounting Manager Job at Rumford Pet Express

Schedule: Hybrid Schedule - 2 days in office, Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

Temporary position could lead to fulltime employment with benefits.

The Accounting Manager is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day finances and should maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability to the fiscal management of our business. The individual should also have interpersonal skills and ability to work cohesively with other members of the team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

● Manage daily activities of the accounting department while maintaining all financial transactions, reports and records.

● Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget and accounting.

● Provide financial analysis statements including monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and actual to budget and last year variance analysis.

● Oversee the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, payroll transactions, accounts payable and general ledger adjustments.

● Collect and provide information for audit inquiries and give assistance to auditors.

● Maintain and process payroll, PTO, employee bonuses, overtime, taxes, and modifications to salaries.

● Receive/pay AP including vendor bills and credits, ensuring accurate posting and classifications in a timely fashion.

● Maintain confidential personnel, payroll, benefits, and leave information.

● Prepare financial statements and reporting for management by set deadlines.

● Reconcile accounts, provide feedback on cash position and monitor expenses.

● Work to improve processes and streamline operations.

● Develop relationships with financial institutions, insurance agencies and legal firms.

● Complete monthly bank reconciliations.

● Handle all other financial and administrative tasks as needed

Additional Responsibilities:

Human Resources

● Maintain and protect confidential data with great discretion, judgment, and professionalism

● Complete and process verifications of employment, unemployment/separation reports, health insurance withholding support orders, census requests and incoming mail

● Processes new hires and conducts exit interviews ensuring employees understand their benefit coverages.

● Administers 401(k) & health plans.

Manage employee documentation such as Employee Handbook as needed.

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
