MnDOT has several vacancies for the position of Temporary Transportation Associate (TA), working through mid-April 2023 at various Truck Stations throughout District 1. See http://www.dot.state.mn.us/d1/images/d1-map.jpg for a map of District 1 truck stations. Must be able to report to hired work location within one hour of being called.

Complete road surface maintenance, traffic control set-ups, minor equipment repairs and snow and ice control activities to keep the roadways safe, clear and in good repair according to MnDOT standards in these positions.

Temporary positions available in Virginia, Hibbing, McGregor, and Cook Truck Stations; and may also include Carlton, Sandstone, Moose Lake, Pine City, Two Harbors, Silver Bay, Grand Marais, Floodwood, Grand Rapids, Ely, International Falls, Littlefork (about 30 miles southwest of International Falls), Deer Lake (Effie).

Applicants must be available during the week, weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays for snow & ice events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no air brake restriction at the time of application and the ability to have tanker endorsement within 2 weeks of hire.
• Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak and understand oral and written information; communicate with employees and the general public in-person or via two-way radio and other electronic devices; and to maintain routine written logs and simple records.
