The School of Social and Behavioral Science is seeking to fill a Temporary Academic Support and Media Specialist to support the SOBL main office and Assistant Dean. This position will report directly to the SOBL Assistant Dean and will assist in answering phones and respond to student inquiries. Edit and maintain the SOBL website using OmniCMS. Support the Assistant Dean and Faculty at student-centered events. Assist faculty with inquiries regarding technology issues.

Successful candidates will be required to show proof of their COVID-19 vaccine status prior to their start date. Religious or Medical waivers may be requested at the time of employment offer.

This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

Responsibilities:

Academic Support and Media Specialist will advise students in SOBL majors or classes taught by SOBL faculty (more than 25% of Stockton offerings) during drop-in appointments. Edit and maintain the SOBL website using Omni CMS. Support the Assistant Dean and Faculty at student-centered events. Assist faculty with inquiries regarding schedule changes and classroom assignments.

  • Website edits and general maintenance, using Omni CMS
  • Assist with preparation of materials for prospective student events and orientation
  • Coordinate with ITS regarding computer upgrades and other tech issues
  • Answer phone calls and respond to student inquiries as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Basic knowledge of web design standards and social media applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
