General Summary
Perform testing on prototype units for use by Greenheck design engineering staff to certify performance for catalog information and to verify product quality and performance capabilities.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Set up product performance tests by installing the unit on an air / sound chamber. Identifying the proper conditions and procedures.
Perform air and sound tests on the various Greenheck product offerings.
Document test results to provide design engineers with the necessary information to evaluate new designs.
Maintain test chamber and test equipment in proper working order.
Provide test data to appropriate individuals for Greenheck catalogs and product literature for U.L. and AMCA certification.
Ensure company safety and housekeeping standards are maintained during testing operations.
Frequent physical activities, use of ladders, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Specifications
Work requires extensive technical or specialized training such as that which would be acquired in the first two or three years of college or technical school.
Between 1 and 3 years of work experience is required.
Moderate analytical ability required. Analysis requires research to obtain new information to completely analyze problematic data. Interpretation of data to identify trends in situations where the problems are complex.
Familiarity period of 7-12 months.
Primarily a modified 1st shift - requiring work time of 9am to 6pm.
Most often receives non-standard work assignments. Solutions/procedures usually found through trial and error usage of established options that may or may not work.
Position has limited access to somewhat confidential/sensitive information. Divulgence would result in misunderstandings or hard feelings, but usually no dollar impact to the Company.
Independent judgment must be exercised frequently. Assignments are received in the form of results expected, due dates and general procedures to be followed. Refers questionable cases to immediate supervisor.
Impact of decisions on results is moderate. May create/eliminate waste such that expenditure on labor or materials is necessary to correct. Usually limited to internal concerns.
Frequency of internal and external contacts is frequent. From 21% to 50% of work time.
The likely impact of communication on the Company's overall success is low. Routine matters discussed and/or decisions made.
Frequent exposure to one or more unpleasant and/or hazardous conditions
(21-50% of work time).
