GERIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST
JACKSON COUNTY, AL --BRIDGEPORT AND SCOTTSBORO
Summary of Responsibilities
This is an entry level and/or unlicensed professional position involved in direct service delivery efforts. This position applies a variety of psychological methods and techniques in the assessment and evaluation of behavior, personality and intelligence; develops specific treatment plans and provides therapeutic counseling in accordance with plan.
Examples of Job Requirements:
Conduct initial intake assessments of client’s presenting problems, sufficient to develop a plan for treatment.
* Develop a recommended plan of treatment subject to approval by a Program Director, DMH approved licensed staff, or the Medical Director.
* Conduct therapy and other approved rehabilitative services for clients directed at accomplishing the goals of approved treatment plan.
* Provide current and accurate documentation of all treatment provided or services arranged.
* Provide crisis intervention services as needed and may participate in rotation of responsibility for emergency services.
* Participate in regular clinical staffings and clinical supervisory sessions.
* Participate in implementation of Quality Assurance plan, as requested by Program Director.
* In-Home and ACT Team Therapists will be required to drive a vehicle and, at times, climb stairs at client homes.
Supervisor: The immediate supervisor for this position will, in most cases, be the Program Director. In some cases, it may be a Program Coordinator or Therapist II.
Required Qualifications: The minimum qualification for this position is a Master's degree in a clinical area, which also required a clinical practicum. Therapist who are not state licensed or are not licensed at a final level (i.e. ALC, LGSW, etc.) will be classified as a Therapist/ Non-Licensed. Therapists assigned to specific subgroups such as children, adolescents or elderly, will be required to have 2 years specialized training/experience to work with such subgroups or shall receive 2 years supervision by a staff member with specialized training/experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
