Toddler Assistant Teacher Job at Orono Montessori School
Orono Montessori School is seeking a full time or part time Assistant Teacher in our Toddler Community. Our Toddler Class is aged 16 months-33 months. The assistant works in strong partnership with the Lead Teacher and is an essential part of the classroom.

Established in 2000, Orono Montessori School is a privately owned Montessori school serving 72 children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Our school is located on the Wayzata/Orono border on a forested, 7 acre plot with multiple outdoor play areas and gardens. We strive to create an environment of joy for the children and staff at our school. We offer the children of our school a nurturing place to learn and grow and wish peace, food and happiness to children all over the world every day!
Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting the Lead Teacher in maintaining a well functioning classroom
- Assisting the Lead Teacher in the preparation of work materials and activities
- Keeping the classroom clean, safe and organized
- Assisting with diaper changes and toilet training
- Assisting with snacks and meal times
- Supervising and leading children in outdoor and large motor activities
- Assisting in observing and documenting duties
- Following the chain of communication with parents
- Following and supporting Orono Montessori School’s mission and values
Education and Experience:
- 2 year degree
- 1 year early childhood education experience (working in a Montessori setting is a plus)
- A degree in or working towards early childhood or related field (preferred but not required)
