Essential Functions:

· Must be able to read and understand prints and drawing of a mechanical nature.

· Ability to assemble and disassemble tooling

· Evaluate tooling and make repairs needed to support quality and production needs

· Ability to spot all seal off and fitting surfaces of dies

· Ability to skillfully and artfully use hand finishing tools

· Have welding skills with MIG, TIG, and arc welding.

· Have ability to use oxygen-acetylene torch

· Perform and document measurements on new and in process tooling. Maintain tolerances to avoid poor quality of products.

· Set-up of measuring devices, gauges, standards, equipment and provide necessary planning for tooling measurements.

· Possess ability to use machines such as mills, lathes, drill press and surface grinder

· Ensures that all existing dies, production tooling, and dedicated equipment are adequately maintained and in good working order. Evaluate existing dies for condition and wear, recommend replacement or enhancements as necessary.

· Develop and maintain knowledge of processes and materials utilized in the department.

· Ability to perform die changes

· Keep work areas and shop area clean at all times. 5S must be followed

· Ability to use overhead cranes

· Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations

· Be available for overtime assignments as required to fulfill job responsibilities.

· Perform all duties as designated by Team Leads/Superintendent and/or by the job position description.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Knowledge/Education/Certifications:* Minimum* level of formal education that is required to perform this position satisfactorily.

( x ) High School plus specialized course work

Describe type of knowledge or certifications required:

Experience: Tooling tech level 1 or Die Repair actively attending apprenticeship program for tooling.

Equipment/Tools Used:All personal tools will be furnished by the employee. The upkeep is the responsibility of the employee. Reimbursement tools will be at the discretion of the tooling superintendent.
