Trailer Mechanic

$4000.00 Sign on Bonus!

We are looking for Trailer Mechanics (Mobile) that live in the Quad Cities, IA area to join our team! You can earn up to $35 an hour depending on your experience. Work week is Monday through Friday days. This position is responsible for performing repairs to intermodal containers and chassis to industry standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform work repairing Intermodal Chassis / Container and other Trailing equipment in accordance with AAR, ISO, DOT, FMCSA and Manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments like handheld computers, wiring diagrams, and gauges.

· Ability to diagnose and perform trailer repairs using test instruments such as handheld computers, wiring diagrams, and gauges to repair components such as Lights, Tires, Landing Gear, ABS Brakes and Framework.

· Ability to perform trailer repairs such as replace flooring, welding repairs, doors, locking systems and structural repairs.

· Document repairs according to an established reporting system, verbally and in writing. Identify warranty repairs and document with supporting photos if needed.

· Knowledge and experience with griding, welding and acetylene torches and Ability to operate power and hand tools.

· Work safe and follow all required safety procedures and guidelines.

· Follow instructions as directed by staff supervisor.

· Ability to work in changing weather conditions.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of trailer repair experience required
• 1 year welding experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required - Vocational / technical or certifications preferred
• Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Clean MVR and able to operate company equipment
• Basic computer skills to enter data into maintenance software system is required
• Must have own tools sufficient to do any job that is required
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Strong Work Ethic
• Live in the Quad Cities, IA area
