Trailer Mechanic / Technician - Hiring Now

Utility Trailer Sales of Kansas City is seeking qualified and experience Trailer Technicians that are ready to work in our newly remodeled 18-bay shop in Kansas City, KS. We are looking for individuals with at least 2+ years of experience as a Trailer Technician / Mechanic, or wreck builder. Applicants that will be successful are self-motivated, dependable, perform all tasks to the best of their ability, have good communication skills, and work well with coworkers. We have several positions open and are actively interviewing applicants now.

Utility Trailer Sales is a dealer for Utility Trailers, Clement Trailers and Trailstar. We complete repairs on dryvan trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and end dump trailers. We ensure our work is at the highest possible quality and all safety requirements have been met to provide our customers with the dependable service they expect. Utility Trailer Sales of Kansas City, is locally owned and operated by Kansas City Peterbilt.

Training will be available on specific air and electronic systems to our Technicians at no cost to the employee. This provides a path of success and career growth opportunities to any employee interested in taking their skills to the next level.

• Starting pay for qualified technicians starting at $25 per hour.

Roles of a technician | Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Experienced Technician applicants must be capable of making quality repairs to the suspension, lighting /electrical system, air brake and ABS systems, steel and aluminum welding and trailer body/structure and doors. The applicant must also possess the skills to perform accurate and complete preventive maintenance inspections, PMs, and annual DOT inspections. Communication with our Service Writers and Foreman are key aspects of providing the industry leading customer service that is expected of all our employees. The responsibilities of a Trailer Technician are as followed, but not limited to:

• Commitment to Safety and Service Excellence.
• Perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections (DOT, PM)
• Perform air brake diagnostics, repairs, and inspections.
• Perform ABS diagnostics and repairs utilizing laptop diagnostic system
• Perform floor, roof, door, and side panel repairs
• Perform minor and major accident repairs
• Perform electrical systems diagnostics and repairs
• Perform air brake diagnostics and repairs
• Perform wheel end repairs and adjustments
• Perform aluminum and steel welding
• Perform general repairs on trailer and trailer dollies
• Perform PM maintenance accurately and efficiently
• Responsible to adhere to all warranty policies and procedures
• Ability to use electronic technical manuals and resources for diagnostics and repair
• Provide accurate documentation on repair orders
