Training & Development Coordinator For National Guard Job at TERRESTRIS, LLC
Terrestris is seeking a Multi Component Coordinator in Watervliet New York outside of Albany NY to perform operations, training and support functions for the New York National Guard Recruiting and retention battalion.
This position supports a dynamic organization with the New York National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion at the forefront of changing young men’s and women’s lives by joining the US Military and protecting our nations improvised and asymmetric threats. A key component is providing training support to the New York Recruiting and retention battalion supporting operations, training, and coordination of recruiting and ops support, techniques, and procedures. The contractor shall assist the New York National Guard in focusing and multi component coordinating the recruitment and retention support for the Army National Guard. Duties will require interaction with Leadership and senior military officers (and government civilians (SES). The candidate shall support the operations, training, and recruitment team as a senior advisor with the ability to interact across the organization and the DoD.
· Candidate shall coordinate directly with over 140 Reserve Component Career Counselors (RCCs) and enlisted Soldiers transitioning from Active Component (AC) to Reserve Component (RC) at over 48 military installations worldwide. Inform them of the process of transitioning from active duty to the NYARNG and provide valid vacancy information in order to increase accessions into the NYARNG.
· Candidate shall visit a Continental United States (CONUS) active duty military installation quarterly and conduct New York Army National Guard membership presentations to the Soldiers leaving active duty and to the Reserve Component Career Counselors (RCCC). Develop professional relationships with the RCCC’s to increase the New York Army National Guard’s visibility and market share.
· Candidate shall provide guidance on enlistment and incentive eligibility to current military members desiring in-service recruit (ISR) or interstate transfers (IST) into the NYARNG. Candidate shall provide this guidance in accordance with the following publications: National Guard Regulation (NGR) 600-200 (Enlisted Personnel Management), NGR 601-1 (ARNG Strength Maintenance), AR 600-9 (the Army Weight Control Program), AR 40-501 (Standards of Medical Fitness), AR 135-7 (Incentives Programs) and Department of the Army Pamphlet (DA Pam) 611-201 (The Army MOS SMARTbook).
· The Candidate shall guide the potential IST or ISR accession candidate’s package from the recruitment stage to the accession stage in order to ensure candidates accession into the NYARNG.
· Candidate shall verify with NYARNG G1 staff regarding Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A) updates to ensure that all currently authorized vacancies in the state are valid and post vacancies to the REQUEST System (Recruit Quota System).
· Candidate shall submit state vacancy requests and forward approvals to NGB for control number and waiver code.
· Candidate shall coordinate with, and maintain contact between, the gaining or losing State Reserve Component Transition (RCT) NCO, the Reserve Component Career Counselor (RCCC), the national Inter-state Transfer help desk and the national RCT help desk to ensure the successful completion of all transfers and in-service enlistments.
· Candidate shall monitor and update the REQUEST System (Recruit Quota System) for the NYARNG on a daily basis paying specific attention to the 'manage unit vacancies' functionality, to include maintaining unit information, vacancy information, position qualifications, skill identifiers and unit POC. Ensure current and accurate vacant positions are posted on REQUEST system using Automated Unit Vacancy System (AUVS). Position builds based off projected unit losses should be done daily in order to ensure an accurate accountability of all NYARNG vacancies.
· Candidate shall provide quality control activities of all electronic projections received from RCCC’s from all military branches to ensure complete packets. Scan documents missing from the Soldier packets within 48 hours in order to prevent any delays in the transfer of the candidates into the NYARNG.
· Candidate shall maintain a digital tracking system for all transfer actions on the RRBN shared drive in order to support continuity and act as a historical record of actions.
Basic Qualifications:
· Knowledge of military recruiting operations
· 2-3 years or more of experience working in the S3 or operations section if not military.
· Minimum E6 or higher with similar experience
· Active DoD secret clearance or the ability to obtain one
