SUMMARY

The Training Specialist is responsible for the administration, direction, and implementation of the Bank's Training Program by crafting creative and effective training materials to its personnel on a diverse range of subject matter. This role will be responsible for working alongside each department to document duties and act as a liaison between the Director of People & Culture and various business units, departments, and branches to ensure accurate documentation is written and audited to build into effective training programs. This roll will be responsible for mobilizing a team to complete the departmental process documentation, and ensuring updates are made in a timely and consistent manner. They are responsible for the writing and revisions as necessary of all training materials, resources, and addressing any gaps in the training program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES


  • Responsible for the administration and direction of the Bank's Training Program by providing creative and effective digital and printed instruction to its personnel on a diverse range of subject matter.
  • Responsible for staying up to date on all relevant American & Arkansas Bankers Association trainings for staff.
  • Works alongside each department to ensure all job processes are clearly documented and utilized to create training materials for each respective area of business.
  • Responsible for the administration and direction of the Bank's Training Program by providing creative and effective digital and printed instruction to its personnel on a diverse range of subject matter.
  • Performs duties as a liaison between the Director of People and Culture and various business units, departments and branches to ensure quality training programs are developed, customized, approved, maintained, revised and properly documented as required.
  • Maintains various software and web-based training programs and computer systems, and other related materials, and ensures training sessions are conducted in an open, friendly and professional environment that promotes successful knowledge transfer to the student as a willing learner.
  • Responsible for the facilitation of learning through a variety of delivery methods including hands-on instruction, virtual training or on-the-job coaching support to each department's supervisor.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts or other instructional designers by researching and analyzing subject matter, processes, concepts, and products to determine and design the appropriate instructional offerings as training content and develops custom and standardized training curriculum specific to the target audience, including training setup guide, instructor and student manuals, sample exercises, and assessments.
  • Develops and maintains a strong working knowledge of line operations and subject matter expertise in the focus areas; uses current and past line work experience to add depth to training delivery and maintains up to date knowledge of all related Bank policies and procedures and functions as a subject matter expert for those subjects.
  • Develops, customizes, and maintains training support materials and visual aids; ensures materials are effectively proofread for format, spelling, punctuation, clarity, content accuracy, and completeness.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external training suppliers
  • Creates blended learning programs, schedules, curriculums, and assessments for all areas of the bank.
  • Evaluates material effectiveness; conducts voluntary surveys and classroom evaluations with participants; advises, contributes ideas, and provides feedback regarding training materials and session content to management; and implements appropriate actions based on performance and discussions with managers and Senior Management.
  • Actively participates in project planning and implementation to ensure that participants are receiving current and relevant subject matter.
  • Responds to training and process documentation inquiries or refers inquiries to the appropriate department or person.
  • Assumes personal responsibility for special projects; gathers data and prepares reports for Senior Management, audits and other personnel.

The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one's own actions and conduct.
  • The position of Training Specialist performs duties specific to the role and other functions as assigned.

The position of Training Specialist is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).


ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY


The incumbent is in a non-confined office type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The position includes driving a Bank or personal owned vehicle approximately 0-5% of the time which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.


The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 10 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.


The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, smart phone, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), check protector, scanner and image systems, scanning equipment, encoder, money counter, credit card terminal, typewriter, computer terminal, laptop computer, personal computer, tablet, printers, or other equipment as directed. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree in a related field, and two years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Desired work-related experience consists of curriculum writing, training and facilitation in a financial institution or corporate environment with a supervisory background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, is required to be applicable to the financial industry.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite, and instructional software
