The Spanish Translator will translate, mostly, member-facing clinical correspondence and, occasionally, a wide variety of marketing materials, meeting the team’s annual pre-established goals, ensuring delivery deadlines, and maintaining high quality standards, all in line with our professional and style guidelines. Additionally, he or she will be fully competent in the use of our translation tools, review their peers’ work and collaborate in maintaining our internal resources such as translation memories and term bases.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Translate letters submitted through the clinical correspondence systems in a fast-paced environment and consult with authors when necessary to ensure that translations retain the meaning and intention of the original
Translate and review marketing materials and other internal department requests within the deadlines and consult with requestors when necessary to ensure that translations retain the meaning and intention of the original
Work on several projects at a time, meeting tight deadlines as well as the team’s pre-established target numbers
Make sure technical terminology and writing style are accurate and consistent
Review other team members’ translations to ensure quality
Help maintain internal resources such as style guides, translation memories and term bases
Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in translation and/or language-related fields with at least three years of experience in marketing or medical translation
Practical translation work or related experience
Native fluency in Spanish and fluency in English
Ability to work independently or in a team setting that is a fast-paced and deadline-driven
Ability to work in a diverse and multi-cultural work environment

Preferred Qualifications:
Certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) or translation license from a college or technical institute
Expertise as a translator in a managed care or healthcare organization
Knowledge of CAT tools (SDL Trados or equivalent)
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
Excellent writing skills

Hiring Range*:
Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $56,000 - $74,880

All Other Locations (within approved locations): $48,600 - $70,720

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
