Position: TRUCK DRIVER/SHOP MANAGER
Job Summary:
Must be able to drive and operate 18 wheeler (including low boy) and various heavy equipment with proficiency and accuracy under varying working conditions.
Essential Duties:
- Follow Daily Procedures and Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings and Safety Handbooks. Properly follow OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent or Safety Facilitator.
- Operate heavy equipment for the purpose of loading and unloading and material handling.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and report defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
- Perform housekeeping tasks and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Organize and maintain equipment, tools, and material at shop in preparation for job use.
- Haul equipment, tools and materials to jobsites at various locations.
- Full-time position, benefits, hourly pay.
- Must possess and maintain class A CDL.
- Considerable knowledge of truck and heavy-equipment operating principles with minimum 2 years verifiable experience and acceptable DMV/MVR record.
- Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to hauling operations.
- Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
- Must have ability to take instructions via hand signals and radio communications.
- Must be able to operate equipment with both hand and feet controls, and the coordination to operate both types of control simultaneously, and must be able to manipulate controls to regulate speed and direction of equipment movement.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Ability to travel and work overtime (may include nights and weekends).
- Must be at least 18 years of age, pass drug screen, and background check.
