Truck Driver Job at METAL POWDER PRODUCTS LLC
Job Summary:
- Drive company owned vehicle on daily milk runs to secondary suppliers, tool vendors and other stops as required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific Duties:
- Load and unload the truck as necessary.
- Drive company truck, and/or other vehicles as necessary to support overall company requirements
- Take product to the proper secondary shops
- Direct transfer parts from one secondary shop to another as indicated on router tags and complete necessary paperwork to the supplier receiving product
- Review loads hauled for correct quantities, paperwork (router tags), damage, etc.
- Operate forklift as necessary
- Make trips to other company facilities when necessary, pick up and deliver tools to the tool shops, and make stops while performing run for maintenance and other personnel
- Routinely schedule service appointments for truck and follow maintenance schedules – specific to first shift position
Advise Supervisor of problems and offer solutions
- Submit daily inspection report, gas receipts and service records and any other paperwork as required to meet DOT requirements for vehicles assigned
- Prepare and maintain Truck Manifest for Supervisor’s review and file
Plan trips for most efficient utilization of equipment and time
- Follow written and/or oral instructions as provided
- Assist with material handling as time permits if the need is there – this includes loading and unloading the truck
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Fill out NCM paperwork as necessary
Required Skills and Abilities:
Correctly perform the following activities:
- Follow established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies
- Follow DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations
- Must possess a valid state driver’s Class B CDL license (air brake endorsement)
- Follow fire, safety policies and procedures and established smoking regulations
Report all violations
- Place orders for necessary equipment/supplies as required; ensure supplies are used in efficient manner to avoid waste
- Wear personal protection equipment in required specific areas including, but not limited to seat belts, safety glasses, with side shields, hearing protection and gloves
- May be required to utilize computerized business system to generate paperwork needed for loads to outside suppliers – specific to second and third shift drivers
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enthusiastic and excellent communication skills
- Class B CDL License with air brake endorsement
- Must be able to pass DOT/CDL physical examination
- Ability to organize and prioritize routes. Must be able to follow directions, be detail oriented, and be able to keep record(s) of what is on the truck every day.
- Clean and safe driving record
- Experience driving a box truck, preferred

Work Hours: As assigned, by shift. Overtime may be required.
Environmental Conditions: Primarily will be driving local delivery and pick up routes within a 50-mile radius of the Falls Creek facility. Road conditions will require extreme care and attention to maintain safety.
Personal Protection Equipment: When required in specific areas. This includes but is not limited to, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, gloves, and seat belts.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Training Needs: The Supervisor specifies job specific training needs during the Performance Review Process and throughout day-to-day operations.
2nd shift
40 hours a week.
