The Truck Shop Foreman works as a leader of a team to provide mechanical services that satisfies customer needs and achieves departmental goals. They are primarily responsible for establishing production goals, supervising, training, and evaluating service employees to ensure that work is performed in support of company’s departmental goals.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission and values of BMC.
• Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.
• Assist in the efficient and profitable management of Truck Shop.
• Assign jobs to technicians to perform.
• Prepare, update and close all work orders in a timely manner.
• Prepare and submit Warranty Claims
• Enforce safety policies and ensure safety practices are followed at all times.
• Ensure a high level of quality for all engines and components in the Truck Shop.
• Preparing parts requisitions, time cards, part returns, accurate and complete service reports and other necessary reports and forms.
• Supervise, train and develop shop technicians.
• Work toward the achievement of Customer Satisfaction goals.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers and shop technicians.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3+ years-experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing on highway trucks, diesel engines and equipment preferred.
• Skill-level requirements vary from basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to component replacement.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment (i.e., Cat ET, CAT-SIS)
• Mastery of DBS, SIS and ET programs required, with the ability to provide accurate quotes and repair time estimates.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures is required.
• Must be able to read and interpret schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals.
• Organizational and time management skills required. Must have the ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast paced industry and deadlines.
• Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.
• High degree of interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills is required. Ability to effectively communicate repair status to internal and external customers.
• Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Blanchard with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner.

• The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside (non-climate controlled) throughout the day.
• Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
• Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
• Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Must be able to lift varied weight up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.
• Use of computer and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.
