Job Title: Trust Officer

Location: Monticello, Champaign, or Bloomington

First State is looking for a Trust Officer to join our Trust and Wealth Management team. The Trust Officer's primary responsibilities include account administration, business development and building and maintaining client relationships.

Essential Job Functions:

• Maintain and build a continuing relationship with existing clients.
• Regular review and understanding of account governing documents.
• Timely and regular client contact.
• High understanding of tax reporting documents to assist customers with questions.
• Research and respond to client inquiries.
• Complete annual regulatory review of accounts.
• Leverage existing network of professionals, both internally and externally, to create successful new business relationships.
• Actively build and preserve relationships with COI's.
• Review trusts and wills for customers and prospects. Provide recommendations to assist in meeting their future goals.
• Assume responsibility for career growth and development by actively pursuing continuing education, reading and self-development to enhance skills.
• Regulatory exam and internal/external audit coordination
• Annual review of Trust Policy and Procedures, periodically updating throughout the year, as necessary.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree (preferably in finance, accounting, or business) or equivalent related work experience required.
• CTFA, CFP and/or CFA designations, or the willingness to achieve a designation preferred
• Requires excellent organization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and prioritize to meet deadlines.
• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to effectively multi-task.
• Advanced knowledge of investment products.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to collaborate effectively with others
• Provide exceptional customer service (both internal and external).
• Maintain confidentiality of all customer information.
• Respond positively to feedback and redirection
• Fully utilize the systems, tools, training, and resources provided to exceed within the position.
• Strong desire to learn and understand all aspects of the wealth management department.
• Professional representation of First State in the community.
