UI/UX Designer

Remote work within the Continental United States.
Brandt Information Services, the leading provider of SaaS technology and marketing services for state wildlife and parks agencies, is paving the way to better communicate and serve the public through their journey to go camping, fishing, boating, hunting, or hiking on public land. State funds generated go back into conservation and outdoor recreation improvements.
Brandt is seeking a UI/UX Designer to join its Product Development team with
at least 2-3 years of professional experience. This position is responsible for collaborating with Brandt’s product and software engineering teams to create and propose designs for new and existing features and workflows within Brandt's Go Outdoors platform. The UI / UX Designer will become an expert in the Go Outdoors platform, conduct UI / UX analyses / deliver presentations / reports with recommendations to standardize and improve the user experience.
Primary Responsibilities/Deliverables Include:
- Conducting regular UI / UX studies of the Go Outdoors platform to identify designs and solutions to improve the overall user experience. Prepares and delivers high quality, meaningful, and actionable reports / presentations.
- Regularly monitors system changes and user workflows to identify areas of improvement or non-conforming designs.
- Engaging with Scrum Teams throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to participate in design meetings for new features to understand requirements and create wireframes / mockups for release / sprint priorities.
- Creating storyboards / wireframes / mockups as needed for new pages, including user / process workflows, and layouts that are high quality, compatible with the Go Outdoors platform, and aligned with industry customer types and user habits.
- Converting approved wireframes / mockups to HTML / CSS files for developer use for front end code.
- Monitoring and reviewing site analytics tools to identify and recommend areas of improvement based on real time data and user trends.
- Working with product leadership to create and maintain documented design standards. Works with development leadership to facilitate adoption and ensure adherence to standards by reviewing newly developed features. (Including specific controls, libraries, layouts etc. to facilitate a positive user experience, support Accessibility / ADA requirements, etc.)
- Designing UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets.
- Testing UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages.
- Providing advice and guidance on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities to analyze and predict user behavior.
Position Requirements:
- 2-3 years of demonstrated experience with UI/UX designs, including HTML / CSS.
- Experience developing storyboards, wireframes, and mockups for web and mobile solutions.
- Outstanding collaboration and communication (written and verbal) skills are essential.
- Extensive knowledge of the software development process and corresponding technologies.
- A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for both web and mobile platforms.
- Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Must reside and code/design within the continental United States
- Flexibility to occasionally travel to Brandt offices and/or client sites with advance notice.
- Submit and pass a Level II Background check prior to work on the project.
Position Location:
This position may be full-time remote within the continental United States. Brandt has office locations in Tallahassee, Florida; Hunt Valley, Maryland and Denver, Colorado should the selected candidate live close to one of these locations and desire to work in an office-setting. The standard work hours for this position will follow Eastern Standard Time.
Compensation & Benefits:

- An annual base salary of $70,000 - $90,000 determined by factors including but not limited to geographic location, skills, qualifications, and experience
