Interaction Designer - Colorado (remote)
Allegion is seeking an Interaction Designer to work day-to-day with Product Managers, Software Developers, Design Researchers, Customer Support/ Success Teams, Marketers, and UI Designers to design and deliver software solutions that matter to our customers and our business. They’re also part of a larger, values-driven digital design organization whose culture prioritizes psychological safety, collaboration, accountability, inclusion, pace over perfection, and transforming our users into fans.

What You Will Do:

Build relationships, collaborate closely, and be an active participant in appropriate Scrum ceremonies with your product team.

Work with design research, customer success, and support to consistently keep your finger on the pulse of user needs.

Help drive a recurring opportunity backlog process that prioritizes user needs; ideates, defines, and validates proposed design solutions; and consistently share the results with the broader team to feed the product backlog.

Create design deliverables & documentation as required to define and gather feedback on design solutions from internal stakeholders and our target audience.

Contribute to the Digital Product Design team’s Center of Excellence initiatives.

Participate in weekly design review meetings with design & research peers across several software portfolios (sharing and critiquing work). We encourage transparency and sharing work in progress early & often!

Participate in monthly team demos where all Digital Product Design team members share work they’ve done that month.

Maintain your tasks on our design team Kanban board.

Provide candid feedback through team engagement surveys.

Help create and track design & product team and individual OKRs (objectives and key results).

Explore new ideas, technology, tools, and design trends and share this info with teammates formally or informally.

What You Need to Succeed:

Must have High School diploma; Bachelor's preferred
-
Min 2+ years of related experience
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to help your teammates build empathy for user needs, get buy-in on the product vision, and understand how to execute proposed design solutions.

Proven proficiency with facilitating an iterative design process and creating high-quality design deliverables including customer journey maps, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes (as evidenced by your portfolio).

Fluency with design patterns for web based and native mobile (iOS and Android) B2B & B2C software applications. Experience with emerging interaction patterns (AR, voice, etc.) a plus.

Mastery of modern design & collaboration tools like Figma, Mural, Teams, and Slack.

Experience working as a member of an Agile scrum team

Strong presentation skills and a high comfort level facilitating cross-functional design workshops.

You’re a driven self-starter who takes initiative and holds yourself and your teammates accountable for delivering valuable software experiences to our users.

Experience identifying and tracking key product experience metrics.

You have a track record of successfully delivering software products at scale within a large enterprise or mature startup environment.

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

The expected base salary range is: $90-$110K. The actual compensation range will be determined based on experience and other factors permissable by law.
