Major Responsibilities:
A. Understands basic animal food safety and personal hygiene as relates to the protection of animal food as a “Qualified Individual”.
B. Follows written daily housekeeping procedures in the Feed Mill and maintains the grounds around mill.
C. Assists in receiving duties with corn, soybean meal, and other ingredients when required.
D. Completes paperwork as required by federal regulations, standard operating procedures, supervisors, or management.
E. Ensures that lavatories and similar stations are stocked with paper towels, soap, and other sanitary items to maintain effective hygienic conditions.
F. Notifies supervisor when a suspected Quality or Food Safety event has occurred.
G. Promotes and upholds the Quality Assurance Mission Statement.
H. Performs other duties as assigned.
III. Position Requirements:
A. Must meet the basic qualifications for new employees.
B. Employee must also meet the following qualifications:
1) Must have a high school education or equivalent.
2) Must have a current valid driver’s license and conform to the Sanderson Farms MVR Policy.
3) Must be able to perform detailed processes.
4) Must be a “Qualified Individual” as defined in the Food Safety Modernization Act, or receive equivalent training.
5) Must be able to climb a 125-foot ladder, and work at heights of at least 40 feet above a structure.
6) Must be adaptive to night work on a rotating shift basis.
7) Must be able to work and willing to work long and irregular hours.
8) Must be able and willing to work in cold, hot, dusty, and noisy conditions.
9) Must be able and willing to work in inclement weather conditions.
10) Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
11) Must be able to work while bending at the waist, kneeling, and other strenuous positions.
