A utility employee is vital to operations & contribute to guest service through polite & timely delivery of meals as they are in the role of a food runner, busser and expo. Each utilitys primary objective is to support service & give guests the best experience imaginable while maintaining a fun & inviting work atmosphere.


REQUIREMENTS:

- Able to work long hours; on your feet, carrying trays & climbing stairs


DUTIES:

  • Interacts warmly with guests (guest right of way, navigating toward restroom, etc.)
  • Sets & stocks expo area & date labels all food products (dressings, garnishes & condiments)
  • Monitors timing of product preparation & checks presentation of items before leaving the kitchen
  • Uses a tray when carrying more than 2 items
  • Greets guests warmly before placing or removing anything from the table
  • Delivers food items to guests following pivot system, announcing item name & modifiers (gives correct meal to correct guest per ticket & never auctions food)
  • Always asks is there anything else I can get for you? before leaving the table
  • Provides guest with whatever is needed to make their experience comfortable & enjoyable
  • Supports guest service by pre-bussing tables, emptying bus tubs, sweeping floors & taking out trash/recycle/compost
  • Maintains neat work space & sets fellow employees up for success by completing daily side work
  • Works & communicates well with guests, fellow employees & management


SKILLS:

  • Executes each shift using a Service State of Mind
  • Effective & polite communicator (in person, through email & over the phone)
  • Excellent multi-tasker; prioritizes tasks & operates with a sense of urgency
  • Stays well organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Able to memorize restaurant floor plan including table numbers & pivot points
  • Able to identify when a product does not meet quality standards & resolve the issue before bringing product to guest
  • Able to discuss specific & unique characteristics of the food menu items
