Job Description:

The Fox Operations Utility Technician is responsible for multiple repair and maintenance tasks including but not limited to carpentry work, light electrical, light plumbing, painting, flooring maintenance, plastering, light custodial tasks and general facility repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs carpentry and basic general construction including woodwork, painting, staining, dry wall repair and installation.
• Performs electrical repairs and maintenance including lighting installation and trouble shooting.
• Performs plumbing tasks including repair to faucets, sinks, toilets, ice makers, supply lines drains, leaks and troubleshooting.
• Works in conjunction with Facilities Manager to routinely inspect the Fox Theatre, Hockeytown Café and adjacent areas on a regular basis and addresses any repairs, organizational needs, or cosmetic upgrades.
• Recommends and oversees purchasing of department supplies and equipment needed to safely and efficiently complete assigned tasks.
• Assists with interior and exterior preventative maintenance including sidewalk detail.
• Works as needed with contractors performing service on facility/theatre equipment.
• Repair and replace auditorium seats as needed.
• Routinely assesses equipment operation and tracks all equipment repairs.
• Performs and completes any special tasks or assignments given by management.

Event Related Responsibilities

• Accommodates special requests related to maintenance during load-in and set up for events through collaborative planning and execution.
• Assists other departments when needed such as Engineering, Merchandise, Production and food and beverage vendors.
• Supports operations team, including the Director of Operations, with set up for private events.
• Assists with ensuring successful event coordination activities by monitoring load in and or events when applicable
• Occasionally, act as lead supervisor for part-time custodial / operations staff before, during, or after events.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
• Five years of related experience and/or training

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work

• Possess the highest integrity and ethical standards
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Ability to work and function both independently and in a team environment
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively

Preferred Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry

Working Conditions:

• Irregular and extended hours including nights and weekends
• Exposure to moderate - high noise level
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent visual/auditory attention
• Due to the nature of the entertainment industry, schedules may vary including early mornings, nights and weekends
