Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for our Vaccination Crew for our Neosho, MO location. This position is responsible for injecting vaccines into live birds in a humane manner as outlined by company policies and while maintaining compliance with government regulations. This position may also be asked to assist on other projects or job duties as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

• Administer vaccines injections to chickens
• Catching and handling live chickens
• Ensuring the biosecurity of farms, equipment, area buildings, vehicles, etc.
• Other duties as assigned by Lead person or Manager

Physical Requirements of Vaccination Crew:

• Fast paced work environment
• Lift up to 10 lbs or more pounds on a regular basis
• Bend, lift, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb
• Work in a general farm environment around live animals

Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

• Must be able to work with fellow team members to complete job tasks
• Must have good hand eye coordination
• Must be able to stand for very long periods of time
• Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and lift up to 5 lb. hens
• Must be comfortable handling live birds and working while surrounded by live birds on all sides
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Candidates must not have contact with any bird species of any kind, other than the laying hens owned by the company
