About the Farm: Heron Pond Farm is a year round vegetable farm in South Hampton, New Hampshire. We are a 50+ acre, four season farm with a variety of distribution channels. We market our produce through our farm stand, 600+ member CSA program, at farmers markets and through wholesale distribution. Our wholesale produce is marketed through a farmer owned company that we helped create, the Three River Farmers' Alliance.

What is CSA? Community Support Agriculture. The community directly supports and invests in local farms prior to or at the beginning of the season for a share of vegetables throughout the season (or in our case, two seasons across most of the year).

How it works: Our CSA shares are set up market style, allowing the member to choose what is in their share each week based upon a choice chart in our weekly newsletter. We also have four add-on share options: local dairy, mushrooms, eggs and meats.

About the Position: We are seeking a CSA & Farmers Market Distribution Associate. We are hopeful to cross train all of our new employees to be able to work in the farm stand in addition to CSA and markets

• 20-30 hours per week
• Tuesday - Thursday availability for off-site CSA pick ups
• Saturday availability for farmers markets (early mornings)
• Pay rate: $15 / hour starting

Requirements:

• Regularly lift 50 pounds
• Stand on pavement/concrete for long periods of time
• Comfort or willingness to learn to drive a cabover box truck in year round weather
• Strong customer service skills
• Passion for local food and sharing knowledge of storage, presentation and recipes of seasonal vegetables with members and customers
• Load and unload the box truck in a timely manner for markets and remote site CSA pickups

• Have a valid driver's license

More details: In this position you will be assisting the CSA team with the weekly needs for CSA and farmers markets, which includes:

Driving the 14 ft. box truck to and from our off farm pick up locations and farmers markets in and around the Seacoast and North Shore regions to towns such as:

• Dover, Portsmouth, Rollinsford and Stratham in NH
• North Andover, Somerville, and Newburyport in MA

During the weekly CSA pick ups, you will be responsible for:

• Loading and unloading the truck
• Setting up tables and produce displays for markets and pick ups
• Checking members in
• Informing members of their choices and relevant information
• Answering questions about produce and the farm
• Interacting with members: many members enjoy sharing their CSA meal plans or creations, so a passion for cooking and creativity in the kitchen is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
