Archangel Imaging provides software and hardware options to make machines smart enough to become team mates you can rely on do their part, rather than tools you need to constantly manage. Veteran founded and owned, we focus on supporting users in remote, exposed or challenging environments, including police, service personnel, first responders and NGOs.
With a strong and engaged customer base in the UK, we are expanding into the US and are looking for our first hire in-country. Joining us as VP Business Development – US Region, you will have an opportunity to own and deliver our expansion into the North American market.
At Archangel Imaging, you will be working alongside a fun, experienced and forward-thinking team to deliver transformative AI solutions that help enterprises and Federal organizations better protect our service personnel, critical infrastructure and first responders over large, remote areas. We work extensively with industry drones and robotics partners to create turn-key solutions, so you will have exposure to the latest cutting-edge technologies.
What you'll be owning:
- The sales pipeline for the region, developing new business and the associated sales pipeline.
- Customer relationships, developing and strengthening relationships in the defense and commercial environments.
- Building local and international partnerships, identifying, qualifying and building strong strategic partnerships to accelerate growth and reach.
- Thought leadership – engaging with the defense and commercial community to lead the conversation on relevant issues, becoming the go-to resource for the industry.
- Enabling product development thru market insight, voice of the customer and competitor intelligence.
- Bidding for relevant R&D projects, maximizing the opportunities for government-funded development.

To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Strong track-record of delivering sales and growth in the defense sector in a mixed SaaS/hardware environment
- Access to the key decision makers, understanding how to navigate the defense purchasing process and to run opportunities to ground
- Experience of creating and delivering sales strategies
- Experience of working in a small but motivated team, being prepared to get stuck in to drive growth and lead by example
- Exceptional listening, presentation, negotiation and communications skills
- Strong business acumen reporting sales metrics to CCO/CEO
- Willingness to travel and meet the customer in their own backyard
- Willingness to travel to meet our developers in Oxford in person
- Endless energy and enthusiasm
Bonus if you have:
- Experience in the UAV sector
- Aerospace experience, particularly of working with the FAA
- Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance
- Experience building sales functions
- Experience of early stage / high growth environment having been a core part of a business which has scaled successfully

Location:
Hybrid. We have just opened an office in Syracuse, NY. The role will require regular travel, including some travel to the UK headquarters
