VICE PRESIDENT – RETAIL OPERATIONS
We are seeking an experienced Vice President – Retail Operations to join our RP Lumber family of companies, headquartered in Edwardsville, IL. We are a leading regional retailer of both traditional lumber products and the best brands of farm and ranch products for the family. We pride ourselves on a great experience, and a fantastic store team to deliver it. We are looking for this leader to build upon this success and drive our stores’ organization forward.
This position will be based at our corporate office in Edwardsville, IL.
Responsibilities:
As a VP Retail Operations, you will:
- Create a retail strategy, engage key stakeholders, and execute on a plan that is in alignment with the RP Lumber/Home & Harvest long-range plan to drive revenue and increase market share
- Develop strategic and operational plans, managing execution, measuring and delivering results to meet or exceed our financial goals
- Provide inspirational leadership and direction to both field and corporate teams and ensure the continued development and management of a professional and efficient organization
- Assure a shopping experience that delights the customer leading to increasingly positive net promoter scores
- Analyze daily sales by merchandise reports by districts and stores; respond quickly and strategically to any underperforming districts and stores
- Partner with the Marketing department to ensure in-store assets are created in tandem with product releases and support the overall marketing strategy and execution plan for the overall company
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers, Technology, and Supply Chain partners to ensure product and service are meeting and exceeding customer expectations; manage relationships across departmental lines and the field to maximize sales
Qualifications:
We seek people with these qualifications:
- 10+ years of successful leadership experience operating multiple retail stores
- Experience in the farm & ranch, footwear/fashion industry, housewares, sporting goods, lawn & garden sectors is preferred
- Must have experience as a leader who can influence people, processes, and technology choices in a manner that enriches the company’s culture and overall sales team performance
- Highly adept and capable of building and maintaining trusting partnerships and relationships with the company’s external consumer, wholesale, retail, and cross-functional partners
- Proven experience in strategic and organizational development, including the ability to attract, develop, and retain world class talent
