Vice President, Technology Operations Job at RE/MAX, LLC
The VP Technology Infrastructure & Operations role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s technology infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly technology infrastructure, server infrastructure, and data communications. They will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
Essential Duties:
- Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of technology infrastructure, including Windows servers, enterprise SAN storage, and enterprise backups.
- Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
- Conduct and/or sponsor feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
- Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management.
- Define hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders and defined architecture review processes.
- Test server performance and provide performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure.
- Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.
- Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
- Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, decision-makers, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent infrastructure activities.
- Assist the VP Information Security & Compliance with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures.
- Practice asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
- Direct and administrate a contingent of network technicians, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action.
- Lead creation of data center disaster recovery plans, including business requirements, technology solutions planning, budgeting, implementation, and regular testing of DR plans.
- Oversee management of all data center facilities and server rooms to ensure proper power, cooling, fire suppression, cabling, security, and general order and cleanliness of facilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. An MBA is preferable.
- 10+ years successful leadership of an infrastructure team managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence.
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively at C-Suite and Board levels.
- Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make sound and logical judgments.

- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and communications networks.
- Knowledge of current protocols and standards.
- Strong experience and understanding with data center networks, firewalls, security, anti-virus, remote access, user management, backup, disaster recovery, etc.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Experience with operational processes based on ITIL framework.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directs and coordinates professional services such as systems analysis and design, feasibility studies, software development, and maintenance.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management and professional-level staff in the department.
- Oversees the schedules and responsibilities of management-level staff in the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

This position is for a full-time, remote or on-site Instructional Designer role in our corporate headquarters located in Denver, CO.
Compensation Range:
$200,000 - $250,000 + Bonus + Equity
Actual compensation offered to candidate will be finalized at offer and may be above or below the posted range due to skill level, experience, industry specific knowledge, education/certifications, or geographic location. The offer rate represents one component of the RE/MAX Holdings total compensation package. Employees will also receive a number of benefits as listed below. Other compensation for this position may include bonus eligibility.
