Victim Witness Coordinator Job at City of St. Paul
The Saint Paul City Attorney's Office is accepting applications for a Victim Witness Coordinator within the Criminal Division. This is a full time, grant funded position expected to work 40 hours per week and will be eligible to receive benefits. Anticipated starting salary for this position is the entry, base rate for this job title.
Performs intermediate level professional work serving as a liaison between the criminal justice system, City Attorney Office, and victims or witnesses of crimes for domestic violence, and other serious crimes. Assesses, analyzes, and identifies client needs and ensures the statutory rights of crime victims are fully met. Provides ongoing communication with and support of victims and witnesses throughout the criminal justice process, including trial. Provides information about court proceedings, helps victims and witnesses prepare for court, conveys plea offers, and directs them to appropriate resources. Attends court proceedings to assist prosecutors and communicates information. Works to improve victim and witness knowledge, comfort, convenience, and security during their involvement in the legal system. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related degree,
and
Three years of experience working with victims and witnesses of crimes, to include at least two of the following: knowledge of the criminal justice system, experience protecting victim statutory rights, assessing level of risk and safety needs of victims, counseling, advocacy, and providing resources to victims and witnesses.
